Dodge Renaissance Academy is located in Chicago’s New West neighborhood. Enrollment is over four hundred students, grades PreK through eighth. Dodge is a site for the training of future teacher leaders, in partnership with the Academy for Urban School Leadership. Over the course of a school year, Residents (those training to be teachers) work along side Mentor Teachers in a classroom setting. On-going professional development for Mentor Teachers is incorporated into an extended day. This creates a community of learners at all levels.
Our students have shown significant yearly gains on the ISAT. In math, 79.4% of our students meet or exceed state goals; in reading, 69.7% of our students meet or exceed the goals.
Before and after school programs offer remedial and enrichment opportunities for our students in language arts and math. Other programs include: the Winston and Strawn Mentoring Program, Joffrey Dance, Merit School of Music Choir, the A. R. T. Program, Drumline; sports activities including tackle football, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, tennis, track, softball, and golf.
Dodge Renaissance Academy is committed to providing an educational environment that fosters high expectations for students, staff, residents and the community. It is the Academy’s mission to produce students and residents who are dedicated to life-long-learning and are capable of making positive contributions to our society.
